Founded in 1992, SDE Group provides a complete, all-in-one solution for businesses looking to grow, develop, and expand their facilities - taking your projects from ‘Concept to Completion’ within the industrial and commercial industry.
We are specialists in commercial and industrial designs, fit-outs and refurbishments offering a wide range of integrated services including: Industrial Storage Solutions, Racking Inspections, Interior Design and Fit-out, 3D Modelling and Visualisation, EV Charging, Energy Solutions and Electrical Contracting.
As a family-run business, we take pride in sharing a unified ethos and commitment to how we operate. Our team is made up of highly qualified, approachable professionals who foster a positive and welcoming work environment, making SDE Group a great place to work.

here.
Since its founding in 1992, SDE Group has built a strong reputation for working across diverse sectors and partnering with brands on a national scale.

1992
1992 SDE Group Established
Founded by Mr. John Buckton, Storage & Display Equipment Ltd. began operations.SDE started supplying and installing pallet racking and display fixtures, initially focusing on the DIY market and securing one of its major clients.
1993
Family Growth & First Office
Ian Buckton and Jonathan Bennett joined John Buckton in the family business. That same year, SDE purchased its first official office space.
1995
Office Relocation & Warehouse Acquisition
As SDE continued to grow and secure more contracts, the company relocated to a larger office and purchased its first warehouse to support the increasing demand and scale of operations.
1998
Relocation to Stanfree Office & Warehouse Acquisition
With continued growth and an increasing number of contracts, SDE relocated to Stanfree and purchased a warehouse to support expanded operations. This site remained the company’s base till 2025.
2000
Leadership Transition
Founder John Buckton retired. Leadership of the company was taken over by Ian Buckton as Group Director and Jonathan Bennett as Managing Director.
2007
Staveley Warehouse Investment
To support continued business growth and increased project demand, SDE invested in a 10,000 sq ft warehouse located in Staveley, expanding operational capacity and storage capabilities.
2011
Launch of Interiors Division
SDE expanded its service offering with the introduction of the Interiors division, led by Robert Cartwright, who joined the company that year. This marked a significant step in diversifying the business.
2012
Investment in Joiners Workshop
Following the successful launch of the Interiors division, SDE invested in a dedicated joiners workshop. This facility allowed in-house production of trade counters, doors, and bespoke furniture, enhancing the SDE’s capabilities and craftsmanship.
2013
Rebrand to SDE Group
As the company’s range of services expanded across multiple sectors, the business rebranded as SDE Group to better reflect its comprehensive offering and unified approach.
2015
SEMA Accreditation & Racking Inspection Services
SDE Group had its first employee fully qualify as a SEMA Approved Racking Inspector (SARI). This achievement enabled the company to expand its service offering to include professional external racking inspections, enhancing safety and compliance support for clients.
2016
Office Interior Refurbishment
To enhance the working environment and improve employee satisfaction, SDE Group completed an interior refurbishment of its office space, fostering a more modern and collaborative atmosphere.
2017
Second SEMA Approved Racking Inspector
Due to the continued demand for racking inspections, another employee successfully qualified as a SEMA Approved Racking Inspector (SARI), further expanding the company’s ability to meet client needs for professional inspections.
2019
Investment in Digital & Virtual Technology
Expanding on digital capabilities, SDE Group invested in cutting-edge technology to provide digital and video content as well as 360° virtual tour experiences for clients, enhancing engagement and service delivery.
2020
Expansion of 3D Modelling & Visualisation Team & Sales Growth- The 3D Design team joined SDE Group, introducing visualisations and 3D modelling services for clients across all sectors, enhancing design presentations and project planning.
- The sales team expanded, bringing in recent graduates to help build their careers within the company.- SDE Group also reached a significant milestone with three qualified SEMA Approved Racking Inspectors after the latest employee successfully passed the SARI qualification.
2021
Formation of SDE Electrical
To further diversify its services, SDE Group expanded into a new sector, launching SDE Electrical to provide specialised electrical solutions across its client base.
2022
Launch of SDE Energy Solutions
With a strong focus on renewable energy, SDE Group launched a new department, SDE Energy Solutions, to provide sustainable energy solutions and support clients in their transition to greener, more energy-efficient systems.
2024
Launch of Marketing Department
In response to the continued growth and expansion of the company, SDE Group launched an internal Marketing Department to better promote its diverse range of services, strengthen its brand presence, and support the growing client base across all sectors.
2025
Office Relocation & Launch of SDE Design Engineering- As part of its ongoing growth, SDE Group moved to new premises to provide each department with its own dedicated space. The new office layout also includes more collaborative areas, meeting rooms, and breakout spaces to encourage creativity and teamwork.
- SDE Group launched SDE Design Engineering, a new division focused on providing comprehensive engineering solutions, further enhancing the company’s capabilities and offering more value to its clients.
