We’re excited to introduce Mitch, who has recently joined the SDE team working for our sister company, SDE Design Engineering.

A bit about Mitch

Mitch began his career at just 16, starting a 4-year apprenticeship in electrical installation, during which he achieved his Level 3 NVQ. In 2015, he went on to study Building Services and Sustainable Engineering part-time at university, qualifying with a FdSc.

Alongside his studies, he began working as a Junior Electrical Engineer at an M&E Building Services consultancy, gaining experience across a wide variety of projects including universities, car auction halls, offices, houses, and schools. Over the past decade, Mitch has steadily worked his way up the industry ladder, most recently becoming an Associate at a Nottingham-based consultancy with responsibility across multiple sectors.

At SDE, he was drawn to the opportunity of stepping into a newly created role, with the chance to help shape its direction and contribute to the growth SDE Design Engineering. The variety of work carried out at SDE – spanning interior design, installation, and electrical design – particularly appealed to him.

What he brings to the team

With six years of hands-on experience in testing and installation during the early part of his career, Mitch has a strong understanding of the contractor’s perspective, helping him to work closely with delivery teams. He also brings valuable experience in the healthcare sector, creating opportunities for SDE Design Engineering to expand its presence in this field.

Outside of work

Away from the office, Mitch enjoys hands-on projects and is currently converting an ex-AA van into a campervan. He’s also a keen motocross rider, enjoys DIY, and makes the most of family days out.

Fun Fact

Mitch used to be a House/Techno DJ performing at clubs in Manchester, mainly at Sankeys.
