The reason behind the move
SDE Group has not only experienced significant business growth over the years but has also seen a remarkable increase in its workforce. When the company acquired our previous office Group House in 1997, it operated with a team of just 10 to 15 employees. Today, that number has grown to over 60, reflecting the company’s ongoing expansion and success. Many long-standing employees have been part of this journey, witnessing firsthand the evolution and growth of SDE Group.

As SDE Group continues to grow, its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction remains at the heart of everything it does.
The vision
"SDE Group originally operated in a shared office space, but as our team grew, we needed more room. The new layout allows each department to operate independently while also offering dedicated spaces for client meetings and break areas. Every aspect has been thoughtfully designed to reflect our brand identity, through the use of colour, texture, and lighting."

An essential addition to the new office was a reception area. Previously, we didn’t have a dedicated space for clients to wait or for deliveries to be received. Now, we have a welcoming reception area and look forward to greeting visitors for years to come.
Employee feedback was instrumental in shaping the design of the new space. One recurring request was for a designated area to take lunch breaks away from their desks. In response, we created a comfortable breakout space with a sofa, bean bags, a TV, and homey furnishings, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for relaxation.
SDE Energy Solutions
SDE Energy Solutions’ Managing Director, Adrian Searl, now has a dedicated office that provides a private space for meetings, Microsoft Teams calls, and important phone conversations. This new space has also made it possible for members of the Energy Solutions team to visit from Plymouth and use hot-desking facilities. Kate Searl, Contracts Manager at SDE Energy Solutions, said:

The additional space has given the company - and our staff - a new lease of life, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for SDE Energy Solutions."
SDE Electrical
SDE Electrical now enjoys significantly more space than in their previous small and cramped office. The new, larger office offers a more collaborative work environment, complete with a private meeting room for team discussions and client visits.
SDE Electrical was responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the following services:
- New distribution systems,
- Sub-main cabling
- Alterations to lighting throughout the offices
- Power supplies to new bespoke brand signage
- Sockets to desk positions
- New data communications systems
- Door access system
- Full new fire alarm system to category L1
- Monitored CCTV system
- New audio system
- Testing and Commissioning of all electrical systems
Showcasing our commitment to a greener future
Sustainability is a core value at SDE that shapes our business decisions. As part of our dedication to a greener future, we prioritise eco-friendly practices throughout our operations. Through our sister company, SDE Energy Solutions, which specialises in renewable energy, we not only offer sustainable solutions to our clients but also implement them within our own facilities.
A crucial step on our path to net zero has been our investment in solar energy. After successfully installing solar PV at our previous office, we recognised the importance of continuing this commitment by incorporating it into our new premises. This investment not only helps reduce our carbon footprint but also supports the global shift toward renewable energy adoption.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing electric vehicles for our employees, we installed multiple EV charging points to offer convenient charging for both our workforce and visiting customers outside the office.
