I’m delighted to be joining SDE Group as Marketing Executive and I’m really looking forward to growing with the business and expanding my skills. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and give you an insight into my career so far and what you can expect from my journey at SDE Group.
After finishing my A-levels, I jumped straight into work as a paid intern at an Educational Charity and Awarding Organisation, specialising in developing qualifications for an array of industries, such as construction, health and social care, finance and more. As my time as an intern was coming to an end, I was then promoted to a full time member of staff with the opportunity to complete my Level 4 in Professional Digital Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Following the successful completion of my Level 4 qualification, I was then lucky enough to be provided with the opportunity to complete further training courses such as, Principles of Great Copywriting with the CIM which has really helped me writing different types of copy, whether that’s for social media, magazines or blogs. I have also successfully completed a 3-day Adobe Creative Suite course with the University of Arts London. This helped me to completely transform the way I created my artwork and graphics, from creating them in Paint 3D and PowerPoint when I first started as an Intern, to using Illustrator and InDesign day in, day out. I find creating graphics and other artworks the most exciting part of any marketing role!
After spending four years in the education sector, I decided it was time for a change and took on a role in the Travel industry to market a personal passion of mine, cruising. I have always enjoyed traveling, not just for the nice food and lovely weather, but to spark creativity for upcoming projects. Visiting new destinations exposes you to different aesthetics and innovative ways that brands engage with customers in different regions, providing me with new ideas that can be adapted to suit my own marketing campaigns.
During both roles I’ve had the opportunity to dive into various facets of marketing, from planning multi-channel campaigns to creative execution. Each experience has taught me something new and honed my skills, preparing me for this exciting new chapter.
I’m excited to bring new perspectives and creative ideas to our marketing strategies, with a strong focus on results. My approach will involve creating engaging, digital content that not only captures attention but also resonates with our audience. I’m keen to attend more industry specific events to both network and increase brand presence for SDE Group.
A fun fact about me is that I love the Autumn/Winter season! You’ll find me in a woolly jumper and boots, with a pumpkin spice latte in hand on the first of September, eagerly waiting for it to be acceptable to start listening to Christmas songs. I am also a big Strictly Come Dancing fan and when it starts, I know the countdown to Christmas has officially begun.
