Building a Career in Contracts Management
After completing his apprenticeship, Rob’s career took a decisive step forward as he moved into a site supervisor role, where he refined his leadership skills and gained a deeper understanding of project delivery. His knack for organisation and problem-solving soon saw him progress into a contracts manager role, focusing primarily on projects in the commercial and healthcare industries.
These experiences honed Rob’s ability to manage complex projects while maintaining high standards, preparing him for the next chapter of his career.
Joining SDE Electrical
Rob’s connection to SDE Electrical began when Directors Simon Collins and Mark Gingell approached him with an exciting opportunity. Simon, who had worked with Rob previously, knew his capabilities and invited him to join SDE Electrical as a project manager.
It didn’t take long for Rob to make his mark. His exceptional work ethic and eye for detail enabled him to quickly be promoted to Senior Contracts Manager. In this role, Rob took on greater responsibilities, including managing the financials of the business, ensuring health and safety compliance, and finding ways to make the company more efficient and profitable.
Rob’s contributions were instrumental in shaping the young company, and from the outset, it was clear that he was destined for a leadership role.
Stepping into a Directors Role
In 2024, just three years after SDE Electrical’s founding, Rob was promoted to Director - a role that reflects both his achievements and his vision for the company’s future. As Director, Rob aims to expand SDE Electrical’s reach, not only by growing its client base but also by exploring new avenues in which the business can excel.
Rob acknowledges that, while SDE Electrical is still a young business, it has substantial potential for growth.
