Bringing Brand to Life Through Office Design

brand

We first connected with HESIS a few years ago during a Fire Industry Association (FIA) project that required specialist fire door solutions. At the time, HESIS came on board as one of our trusted suppliers, and we quickly realised their team shared our commitment to quality, safety, and precision.

That initial collaboration didn’t just result in a successful project; it also opened doors (both literally and figuratively) to new opportunities, particularly within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) sector. What began as a supplier relationship has since evolved into a strong, dynamic partnership.

So, when HESIS approached us to design and fit out their new office space in Liverpool, we were thrilled to be part of this next step in their growth. With their high standards and strong focus on functionality and safety, we were excited to help bring their vision for a modern, efficient workspace to life.

The Vision

This project centred on the design, spatial planning, and full fit-out of the first-floor office, starting from a completely blank canvas. The building had been handed over in Category A condition, meaning the base build was complete, but the space itself was untouched.

Our main goal was to transform the empty shell into a functional, cohesive, and visually striking workspace that reflected HESIS’s newly developed brand identity. Interior Designer and Creative Lead, Charlotte, drew inspiration from the brand’s bold and contemporary aesthetic, incorporating vibrant statement colours throughout the space. These accents were used strategically to create visual impact and reinforce the brand's presence internally.

Close collaboration with the HESIS team revealed that maintaining a clean, uncluttered environment was a top priority. Just as important was the need for both collaborative and focused work areas, so the layout was carefully balanced with breakout zones and enclosed meeting rooms.

This project also allowed Charlotte to showcase her full skillset, particularly in design and 3D modelling. To help HESIS fully visualise their new space, she created detailed 3D renders that accurately represented architectural features like walls, flooring, windows, and doors, alongside furniture, appliances, and decorative elements.

Bringing the Visuals to Life

With the base build complete, our team was able to move directly into constructing the internal elements that would bring the design to life. We installed partitions to section off the space into a boardroom, two smaller meeting rooms, a manager’s office, open plan office space and breakout/kitchen areas.

Informal breakout zones were strategically placed throughout, offering flexible environments for casual discussions and creative thinking. In contrast, the enclosed meeting rooms provided quiet, private spaces for focused work and more formal conversations. One of the standout features is the boardroom, a bold, modern space that combines striking aesthetics with functionality for professional meetings.

At the heart of the office is the teapoint and kitchen area, intentionally designed as a central hub for staff. This space not only encourages team interaction but also helps define the overall floorplan, creating a natural and intuitive flow between work zones.

HESIS also entrusted us at SDE to source all the office furniture. This allowed us to collaborate with a new supplier, Moventi, to provide sleek, stylish pieces that combine practicality with a modern edge, perfectly complementing the refreshed brand identity.

Our sister company, SDE Electrical, also played a vital role. Although the office already had working electrics, our team stepped in to relocate power points, install new lighting, and complete other essential electrical modifications to suit the new layout.

A Collaborative Success

This project is a great example of what can be achieved through thoughtful design, strong collaboration, and a shared commitment to quality. Working closely with HESIS, we delivered a workspace that not only meets the practical needs of their growing team but also brings their brand to life in a bold and functional way.

We’re proud to have contributed to this exciting chapter in their journey and look forward to continuing our partnership. Whether it’s a full office transformation or a specialist fit-out, our team is always ready to turn great ideas into spaces that support productivity, collaboration, and wellbeing.
